El Privilegio de Tena stands very close to the Formigal ski lodge and the French border. Opened in 2003, this large house of rock, wood and slate (whose origins date back to the end of the 15th century) sheltered a former abbey in the past. The 1,224 metres of altitude provide breathtaking views over the Tena Valley and—during the winter—the snow-covered mountains of Peña Telera and Peña Blanco, with the Búbal reservoir just below. Luis Serrano was charged with expanding the installations by adding on a new building that is characterised by the balance of interior space and aesthetic lighting along with its avant-garde decoration. The building has three floors.
GOURMET CLUB
El Privilegio de Tena provides three offers that are sure to delight the most demanding palate with elaborate dishes in a warm and comfortable setting. The signature cuisine Restaurant, true to tradition and with a love for simple foods, is found on the ground floor and seats 60 people. The Gourmet Hall stands apart for its contemporary and up-dated traditional gastronomy. With creative presentations and careful preparation, it is expressive in both texture and taste. Loyal to a taste for products from the Earth, its menu is renewed each season with attractive proposals Lastly, the Cellar, located on the ground floor of the hotel, is air-conditioned in order to guarantee the temperature of the wines available at El Privilegio de Tena. Its large window allows clients to enjoy the display and help choose the wine that will accompany their meal at the El Privilegio restaurant.
WELLNESS CLUB
Here are pleasures such as receiving a massage to relieve stress and entering a marvellous world of relaxation to pamper the body. The El Privilegio Spa offers tranquillity, well-being and beauty in a unique atmosphere with a combination of all types of Asian and Western treatment techniques. They are spaces inspired by the hotel’s natural setting and are designed with a careful selection of textures, colours and sensations. There is a large window to allow guests to benefit from the light of the day, the warmth of dusk or the welcoming of the night while enjoying a dip in the spray-jet pool, or relaxing with the chromatic play of the water, or resting on the heated deck chairs after a comforting thermal treatment. |

This beautiful Pyrenean town in Aragon is located at an altitude of 1,224 metres, hidden among small hills of pine forests, oak groves and meadows in the Alto Gállego region within the Sallent de Gállego municipality. The landscape marked out from the Cabezo de Santa Marina is one of a kind.
On the horizon are the proud and noble Peña Telera and Peña Blanca mountains, and at their base is the Búbal reservoir. Incredible beauty can be found among its noble manors, walls, balconies and windows. It has a small Romanesque church from 12th century with an excellent Renaissance altarpiece from the 16th century dedicated to St. Martin. Also worth mentioning are the traditional celebrations that have been preserved throughout the years, such as the ronda which goes through all the houses in the town as boys dance the typical paloteo and people toast each other with funny poems over tasty plates of ham and glasses of local wine. In the immediate surroundings, it is possible to do some downhill skiing at La Partacua ski station, which is also the starting point for the annual Pirena dogsled race. From the town, it is possible to go on many hikes like the Ibón de Tramacastilla, as well as walks in the Betato Woods nearby. |
